Flyfishing

We are now taking reservations for our 2024 flyfishing season.  Our 2023 guests caught rainbow, tiger, cutbow, brown, and brook trout on our stretch of the river (though the latter three are rare!).

River fishing at Two Bridges is strictly catch and release, barbless flyfishing only.  We provide the only location on the North Fork of the South Platte River where you can stay in luxury riverside accommodations and flyfish adjacent private water without a guide.  We do not supply flyfishing gear.  You can bring your own or, if you need gear, let us know.  We can provide you a list of approved guide services for an all-inclusive day on the water.  If you need resupply, there are a couple of fly shops close by who know the river well.

Our lodging guests get scheduling priority and can fish the river for a daily rod fee of $175 per angler.  Fishing slots must be reserved in advance.  If you want to book fishing on the river, we suggest doing so early (concurrent with booking your lodging) rather than waiting until you arrive.  Lodging guests may flyfish the river on their own (no guide required) after confirmation of adequate independent flyfishing experience, a property orientation, execution of a waiver and acceptance of property rules, presentation of a valid Colorado fishing license, and payment of rod fees. Lodging guests are allowed to fish from sun-up to sundown on their reserved day.

If you are not staying with us, but are interested in fishing here, we allow a limited number of non-guest anglers fishing with one of our approved guides (on a space available basis).  The rod fee for non-guest anglers is $225 per day/$175 per half-day (not including guide fees or gratuity) and reservations must be made in advance through the guide.  Non-guest full-day anglers are allowed to fish from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on their reserved day.

Fishing at Two Bridges Lodge is a privilege.  We reserve the right to refuse fishing access to any individual angler for any reason in our sole and absolute discretion.

A few notes on flyfishing the river at Two Bridges Lodge:

1) All fishing is catch and release with barbless flies only, maximum 2 per line.

2) For the benefit of our fish and our guests, we intentionally limit the number of anglers on our water.  We allow a maximum of six anglers per day and fish only 5 days per week.

3) No fishing in the river is allowed without payment of a daily rod fee per angler.
4) A valid Colorado fishing license is required.  You can buy a license online here or locally at Platte River Outfitters.

5) Execution of our waiver and release is required. The waiver can be found here.

6) Pre-fishing angler orientation is required.

Full property flyfishing rules can be found here.  Guests that violate property rules will be subject to a $250 fine and potential loss of lodging and property privileges.  Non-guest anglers will be removed from the property, will be banned from future property access, and may be charged with trespass or other offenses as applicable.  No refunds of rod fees or lodging charges will be made after any violation of rules.

Lodging guests receive complimentary access to our trout pond at the Lodge.  Fishing in the pond is a little more relaxed and is great for family members who want to fish but do not want to dedicate a day to the river.  You can use your fly rod or borrow one of our spinning poles.  Artificial lures with barbless hooks only--and strictly catch and release.  No fishing license is required to fish in the pond.
